Yarra River Exploration.
On Trinidad’s North Coast the  Yarra River plays a significant role in providing water to nearby villages but also acts as a boundary separating the villages of La Filette and Blanchisseuse .The name Yarra may have derive from the Amerindian word meaning “ever –flowing” and this constant supply of energizing water  comes from the Arima, Blanchisseuse watershed .It sources originates from The Limon River situated in Morne La Croix  and it flows in a north western direction as it meanders through the valleys and spurs to interlock with other major tributaries from The Yarra Forest Reserve.The erosion of the river bed and bank through the methods of solution ,abrasion ,attrition and hydraulic action  form fantastic creations of  gorges and pools .
 The adventure  to reach the top of the  gorge can be access through three main routes  the first been a simple one hour upstream walk along the river bed ,the second been a one and a half hour  trek through the intricate Yarra Forest  and the third a five hour downstream exploration from Morne La Croix.
Fitness walkers will explore the Yarra River Starting from Morne La Coix and finishing at Yarra Bridge
Assembly & Registration  : 7.00am entrance to Central Bank Auditorium or 7.30am Sam's Bar Maracas Bay
Please note :vehicles will be parked at Yarra and maxi taxi will transport us from Yarra  to Morne La Coix
