Morne La Croix village is situated 18miles on the Arima -Blanchisseuse Road .It is called Mountain Of The Cross by the indigenous people who were forced to leave Caura (little Venezuela) because of the construction of a dam by the government.The planting of cocoa have lead to a network of donkey trails through out the hills from Mamoral Road in Morne La Croix you can easily get to Limon Trace, Caura, Lopinot and Brasso Seco Paria. Historical Information on the village can be gotten from the book The Cocoa Panyols of Trinidad by Sylvia Moodie-Kabalsingh. In this book she describes two medicine men Gomez and Dyal who originated from the village. While driving on the Arima Blanchisseue Road the village can be easily recognized by a welcoming plaque on the ground.
