Island Hikers

Island Hikers will visit Guanapo .There are two main trails to access the Guanapo River the first is from Lalaja Village located six miles on the Arima Blanchisseuse Road ,the return journey from this route is challenging as hikers trek uphill through an old citrus orchid.
The  second and preferred route starts at the Guanapo Quarry and is a pleasant one hour walk into the heart of the Guanapo Forest .Exploring the gorge is an adventure, as hikers  jump into a ten foot pool to start their quest. On either side of the gorge  the river has carved the landscape to create magnificent shapes and sculptures.
Life jackets will be provided for all hikers and swimming through the various channels of the gorge is optional and some may prefer to meet the hikers at the exit area of the gorge.A water-proof bag is recommended to secure all electronic items.
